This work is a very experimental piece desired to have a disjointed, “patch-work” feeling, akin to that of a digital version of collage. The collages themselves are an amalgamation of pieces from past works, snippets from magazines and my own photography. I chose to add “brushwork” (rotoscoping) and snippets of audio that represented thoughts concerning both myself and my work to convey how much of the media we consume combines into forming our identity. This piece highlights the process of constructing identity, the process of having thoughts and simultaneously policing them and how it is this cycle to which we often defer to when making.
